About Our Rabbit

Where is your rabbit raised?
Our rabbits are raised on family farms in partnership with Natural State Rabbit, one of America's most established rabbit operations, farming since 1911. All processing and fulfillment take place at their USDA-inspected facility in Rogers, Arkansas.
Are your rabbits raised with antibiotics or hormones?
Never. Our rabbits are raised without antibiotics, growth hormones, or animal by-products in their feed. They eat a clean, commercially formulated vegetarian diet. No shortcuts.
What breed of rabbit do you sell?
A proprietary commercial line of New Zealand White and California White lineage, breeds long prized for meat production, mild flavor, and lean muscle yield. Harvested at 8–12 weeks unless otherwise specified.
Is your facility USDA inspected?
Yes. All rabbit is processed at a USDA-inspected facility in Arkansas, meeting the highest standards of food safety at every step.

Pet Food

Is rabbit a good protein for pets with allergies?
Yes. Rabbit is one of the best options for pets with food sensitivities. It's a novel protein, meaning most dogs and cats have never been exposed to it, making it ideal for elimination diets. Naturally hypoallergenic, highly digestible, and free from common allergens like chicken, beef, and grain.
What's the difference between coarse grind and fine grind?
Both are complete whole-rabbit grinds with meat, bone, and organs included. Coarse grind is single ground with a chunkier texture, ideal for larger dogs or experienced raw feeders. Fine grind is double ground to a smoother consistency, better suited for cats, small breeds, puppies, or pets new to raw food.
What's included in the whole rabbit grind?
The entire rabbit: muscle meat, raw meaty bones, and organs (liver, kidney, heart). A nutritionally complete base protein for raw diets, built around prey-model feeding principles.
What is the fur grind, and why feed it?
Our Coarse Rabbit Grind with Fur is our standard coarse grind blended with natural rabbit fur. Fur acts as a natural fiber source: it supports gut motility, helps manage intestinal parasites, and provides a gentle mechanical cleaning effect on teeth. Popular among raw feeders following a whole-prey approach.
Can I feed rabbit to cats?
Absolutely. Rabbit is lean, high in taurine, and easy to digest, making it an excellent protein for cats. Our fine grind is a favorite among cat owners. Many veterinary nutritionists recommend novel proteins like rabbit for cats managing IBD, food allergies, or urinary issues.
Is your pet food raw or cooked?
All pet food products are raw and frozen. No cooking, heat treatment, or preservatives.
Are rabbit ears and feet safe for dogs?
Yes. Single-ingredient minimally processed natural chews and a safe, digestible alternative to rawhide. Ears (with fur) are great for medium to large dogs. Feet are rich in cartilage and natural glucosamine, making them a solid choice for joint health.

Human Cuts

What does rabbit taste like?
Mild and delicate, often compared to chicken, but with more depth and a slightly richer, earthier note. Leaner than most meats, tender when braised, and versatile enough for everything from a rustic French ragù to a summer grill pack.
Is rabbit healthier than chicken or beef?
Rabbit is one of the leanest meats available, lower in fat than chicken, beef, or pork, and higher in protein per ounce. Rich in B vitamins, phosphorus, and selenium. An exceptional clean-protein choice for health-conscious cooks and athletes.
How do I cook rabbit?
Bone-in cuts like back legs and saddles excel with low-and-slow methods: braising, slow-cooking, or confit. Boneless cuts and loins can be pan-seared quickly over high heat. For whole fryers, treat it like a whole chicken. The general rule: don't rush it. Rabbit rewards patience. Need ideas? Visit our Recipes page.
What's the minimum order for human cuts?
Single packs must be ordered in pairs (2) or trios (3) to maintain proper temperature control during shipping. We also recommend orders of $100 or more for the best packaging and delivery experience.
