Shipping Policy & Rates

At Blue Ridge Rabbit Meat Co., we take shipping seriously. Rabbit meat is a perishable product, and getting it to you cold, safe, and on time takes care at every step. Here's everything you need to know before you order.

Where We Ship

We ship to all 50 U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii where FedEx/UPS service is available.

When We Ship

  • We ship every Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Place your order by 6:00 PM EST on Tuesday and it ships that same week. Orders placed after the Tuesday cutoff ship the following week.
  • You'll get a tracking email as soon as your order leaves our facility. Most orders arrive within 1–2 business days of shipment, packed to stay cold the whole way.

Because we ship on fixed days, there's no separate processing delay to worry about — your order goes out on the next shipping day after the cutoff.

How Your Order Ships

We ship via FedEx Priority Overnight, FedEx 2Day, or FedEx Home Delivery depending on your location, and UPS 2Day Air or UPS Ground where applicable. Every order is packed with gel ice packs and an insulated liner, calibrated for your shipping zone and transit time to keep it frozen or refrigerator-cold on arrival.

What to Do When Your Order Arrives

It's completely normal for your order to arrive partially thawed. Per USDA guidelines, as long as it arrives refrigerator-cold (40°F or below), the meat is safe to use immediately or refreeze — if it feels cold to the touch, you're good. Unpack and refrigerate or freeze your order promptly. Please have someone available to receive it; we are not responsible for spoilage if a shipment is left unattended after delivery.

If Your Order Arrives Damaged or Warm

  • Contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
  • Email blueridgerabbits@gmail.com with clear photos of the packaging, contents, and any temperature indicators.
  • We'll make it right.

Claims submitted after 24 hours or without photos may not be eligible for replacement or refund.

Order Minimums & Tips for the Freshest Delivery

Is there a minimum order? No. You can order as little or as much as you'd like. A few simple guidelines help your order arrive in the best possible condition:

  • Single packs ship in twos or threes. Individual retail cuts (our "single packs") must be added to your cart in pairs (2) or trios (3). Grouping them keeps the box properly cold in transit — a lone pack doesn't hold temperature as well on its own.
  • Bundle up for the best value. We recommend orders of $100 or more so your items ship together in one well-insulated box and you get the most out of flat-rate (or free) shipping for your zone.
  • Ship early in the week. Ordering ahead of the Tuesday cutoff means the shortest possible transit time to your door.
