How To Become A Rabbit Grower For Blue Ridge Rabbit?

  1. Contact our Grower Department.
  2. Get approved and receive your grower number.
  3. Complete and return the grower paperwork.
  4. Start selling.

What are the basic fryer requirements?

  • Approval first: New growers must be approved before selling to us.
  • No antibiotics: Fryers must be raised without antibiotics from birth through sale.
  • No growth hormones: Fryers must never be given hormones.
  • Approved feed: Feed must come from a Natural State approved feed mill, with no animal by-products. The list is provided to approved growers.
  • Biosecurity: Follow basic disease-prevention practices to protect your rabbits.
  • Size and age: Fryer weight and age specifications are available from the Grower Department.
  • Reporting: Approved growers report their expected fryer count before each scheduled pickup and their breeding doe count monthly.

  • Calicivirus (VHD) Waiver
  • W-9
  • Current feed tag (if you don't have rabbits yet, send it once you do)

How does pricing, pickup and payment work?

  • Pricing: Paid by live weight at drop-off, based on the current price per lb. Contact us for the current price.
  • Pickup and minimums: Farm pickup requires meeting certain minimum standards. Drop-offs at our current pickup spots may have the minimum waived. Contact us for locations and details.
  • Payment: Payout schedule is established once you are an approved grower.
